De Dalia Kury
Syrians Hazan, Mazen, and Khaldoon, who live in Europe, agreed to return to the worst period of their lives for the camera – to when they were imprisoned for criticizing Assad’s regime. They spent 3 days in a small space in a dark cellar furnished only with mattresses. The room was horrifyingly reminiscent of their cells. The only difference was that there were cameras and the door remained opened. The Syrians talk about the details of their prison life, torture techniques and their feelings. However, their optimism and zest for life take the film to unexpected levels, including passionate political discussions and humor.
This film will be screened during the One world / Jeden svět festival.
