Blowin' Up

(États-Unis, 2018, 94 min)

De Stephanie Wang-Breal

Human trafficking is a severe human rights violation and an everyday reality for many women in the USA. The police often arrest women working in the sex industry in order to hunt down their exploiters. The Human Trafficking Intervention Court in Queens is active in cases involving such women, dealing with them as crime victims and providing consulting services. We watch the stories of women with various pasts through courtroom activities, where Judge Toko Serita, consultant Eliza Hook and others act with extraordinary human courtesy and do everything possible to help the women regain their freedom and the ability to make their own decisions.

This film will be screened during the One world / Jeden svět festival.
