A film about an unusual hobby practised by tens of thousands of adolescents in the Nordic countries – hobbyhorsing.

Girls brandishing a horsehead attached to a wooden stick between their legs dash out of the playground. They flamboyantly imitate horse movements and even jump over metre-high obstacles. They give names to their horses, shoot viral videos about them, and ride them to national championships. Previously they lacked attention or were bullied. The community around hobbyhorsing gives them mutual support, freedom, room for imagination and much-needed self-confidence in defending their unique hobby against the misunderstanding of their peers.
